BEYOND. is a fitness studio in Hawthorne, NJ, where strength training, personal coaching, and community come together.

We offer group fitness classes, semi-private training, and one-on-one personal training designed to help adults of all ages and fitness levels feel stronger, more confident, and supported—whether you’re just getting started or getting back into a routine.

Our focus on connection, inclusivity, and feeling good through movement has been part of BEYOND from the very beginning. Our story began in 2019 when Kevin Kennedy and Deihdra Miller took the reins from Pat Curcio, who spent five years building a strong, welcoming studio known as Pilates Fusion. They carried her vision forward with heart, creating a space where everyone felt welcome, where laughter mattered as much as lunges, and where fitness was always about having fun.

Now, as BEYOND enters its next chapter under the direction of Coach Dana Anello, that foundation of heart and inclusivity remains at the core of who we are. Whether you’re brand new or a longtime member, you’ll find a space to move, connect, and have fun—because at BEYOND, we don’t just build fitness, we build community.

KEVIN:

Kevin Kennedy has spent more than 30 years helping people move, perform, and stay strong. His career has included media appearances in the 1990s—most notably a feature in Fitness Magazine—and training a wide range of clients, from Oscar winners and corporate leaders to Olympic athletes, NFL hopefuls, and young athletes who went on to collegiate success.

A key influence on his career was a three-year mentorship with Ian King, Australia’s top strength and conditioning coach, where Kevin learned innovative approaches to performance and injury prevention. He later launched Kids U in Paramus, blending fitness with play for children, and partnered with physical therapy professionals to expand his expertise in rehabilitation.

At Beyond, Kevin brings a creative, no-two-workouts-alike style that blends humor, structural correction, and performance training. His approach challenges clients to build a strong foundation, avoid injury, and progress in ways that keep them energized, balanced, and continually improving.

Deihdra:

Deihdra Miller hadn’t grown up working out and never saw herself as an athlete until she was in her mid-30s. In 2010, after encouragement from Kevin and close friends, she joined Team Lipstick, an all-women’s beginner triathlon team—and never looked back. She quickly discovered that movement made her feel stronger, more grounded, and more in control of her life, and it introduced her to an incredible community. Movement communities, she believes, are truly THE BEST.

Since then, she has taught Pure Barre, coached Girls on the Run for more than a decade, and in 2019 became a certified Pilates Reformer instructor and the co-founder/co-owner of BEYOND. fitness studio with her life partner, Kevin Kennedy. She’s also a proud member of Jersey Women Strong and SoleMates.

Her passion is helping women find a movement modality they love—one that empowers them and supports aging with strength, confidence, and joy, whether that happens at BEYOND. or anywhere movement makes them feel their best.

Dana:

Dana Anello is the Operations Manager at BEYOND., where she also teaches Boot Camp classes and works with private clients. A NASM Certified Corrective Exercise Specialist, RRCA Certified Running Coach, and Precision Nutrition Level 1 and 2 Certified Nutrition Coach, Dana has more than 25 years of experience in the health and fitness industry.

She believes that fitness should feel good, build confidence, and fit real life. Through her Eat-Move-Live philosophy, Dana helps clients create habits that support both body and mind—so they can feel stronger, more capable, and truly at home in their own skin. Her approach blends movement, nutrition, and mindset to help people live with energy, confidence, and joy every day.

Dana is also the founder of Jersey Women Strong, northern New Jersey’s largest all-women’s running and multisport community. A Buffalo native (Go Bills!) with degrees in Exercise Science and Physical Therapy from the University at Buffalo, she now calls Ridgewood, NJ home—where she continues to inspire others to move well, live fully, and go BEYOND.

Ali:

Ali Goffredo is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Weight Loss Specialist. She entered fitness professionally after always being called to sports and exercise as long as she can remember. Ali has participated in gymnastics, baseball, tennis, basketball, Tae Kwon Do, Krav Maga, kickboxing, swimming, and running - including ultra marathons and competing in obstacle races such as Spartan Race at the World Championship level. Professionally, she has had the pleasure of working with kids as young as 8 months on gross and fine motor skill development, coaching for Girls on the Run, training athletes of all ages, teaching swim for age 3 and up, and guiding both beginner and seasoned exercisers of all ages.

Ali coaches integrated training, using all forms of exercise to create fun and challenging programs. She believes in maintaining wellness through a holistic fitness practice of regular exercise, great sleep, nourishing nutrition, and stress management. Ali approaches her sessions and classes with joy and passion. She communicates with empathy, compassion, and understanding, and supports with all of her energy and attention.

Paula:

Paula Hegyi started out as a dancer, choreographer and teacher in styles such as ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and tap.  Her love of fitness and staying healthy lead her to group fitness.  She ran her own company - The Fitness & Movement Company for 10 years.  She has certifications in Group Fitness, Boogie Box and TRX.  She is the mother of two boys and loves inspiring both adults and kids to get moving.

Tori:

Tori Hoehn started her journey in health and wellness 15 yrs ago when she got her degree in Holistic Nutrition Coaching from The institute for Integrative Nutrition. As a daughter of a doctor, she has always had a propensity for healing and optimizing the food/ body connection. Growing up as a competitive ice skater and dancer , Tori understood the way the body moves and its limitations. The combination of a healthy diet and physical activity is what led her to become a certified pilates instructor. Marrying movement with intention is what makes Tori a dynamic teacher.

Tori has been at BEYOND. since 2023. Since she has been here, she has become a trusted teacher and friend to the BEYOND. family. Clients can expect a challenging and rewarding session , with emphasis on form, fun and hard work. When she’s not teaching pilates, she is caring for her two teenage daughters and husband. Fun fact Tori has recently become obsessed with crocheting!!

Jennifer:

Jennifer Knight is a 200-hour registered yoga teacher with additional training in mindfulness. Join her to spend some well-deserved time caring for yourself as you stretch, strengthen and relax. Learn to appreciate the importance of movement, breath work and mindfulness to help you be the best version of yourself, making time to serve your body, mind and heart.

Jennifer introduces tools to understand how to regulate emotions and the state of body and mind, allowing us to move through life with more ease and joy. It is important to Jennifer that she leaves students with the ability to take what they’ve learned “off the mat” and out into their everyday lives. She teaches students from kindergarten through seniors, and welcomes brand new beginner students, experienced yoga practitioners and everyone in between.

Jennifer began practicing yoga and mindfulness 30 years ago and has been teaching for over ten years.

Gina:

Gina Vantuno is a 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher who first discovered yoga while training for her second marathon. She quickly fell in love with how the practice brought balance to her intense training and overall fitness routine, and she’s been passionate about sharing its benefits with athletes ever since.

As a running coach and former CrossFit L1 trainer, Gina has worked extensively with runners and CrossFitters to improve mobility, recovery, and performance. She is also the founder of Run Yoga Run, LLC, a business dedicated to supporting the local running community through yoga-inspired recovery sessions, mobility and strength-building workshops, and athlete-focused programming.

Gina has continued her education in yin, restorative, and anusara yoga, myofascial release, and strength training. Her classes emphasize safe alignment, mindful movement, always encouraging students to “meet themselves where they are” and “listen to their bodies.” Gina’s approach ensures that every student—whether athlete or beginner—can engage with the practice in a way that best supports their unique needs.

JACKIE:

Jackie started her career in fitness teaching exercise classes at her university’s fitness center in 2015. Since then, she has discovered a passion for helping others on their health and wellness journeys.

When she began informally training her own mother and saw the beauty of instilling a love for exercise in others, she decided to obtain her NASM-CPT certification. She believes that fitness is a lifelong pursuit, and that it is never too late to get started.

In addition to training clients and teaching classes, Jackie is also a pediatric speech and language therapist.

LAUREN:

Lauren Lynch began her yoga journey in 2006 and developed a deep connection to the practice. After 15 years of personal practice, she earned her 200-hour RYT certification in 2021 through Naturally Yoga with Sherly and Neil Edsall.

She is a certified Yin Yoga teacher, intuitive Reiki Master, sound healer, Yoga Nidra guide, and IET practitioner. She is currently completing her 300-hour yoga teacher training and yoga therapy training through Prema Yoga Institute.

Lauren offers a space to slow down, move with intention, and connect to the breath. Her approach invites students to turn inward, honor their practice, and meet themselves one breath at a time.
